Current Volunteer Needs

Our recruitment is primarily seasonal in nature, starting in May for new volunteer group-trainings that begin in the fall.

  • We are currently accepting applications for public engagement volunteer positions that will begin their training in September: Docents, Canyoneers, Whalers and Naturalists.
  • We are also currently recruiting Youth Volunteers to serve as summer camp aides from June through August.

We are not actively recruiting volunteers for science department activities at this time. However, if you have specific educational or professional background in Ornithology, Mammalogy, Entomology, Herpetology, Botany, Archaeology, Paleontology, and Library Science, we welcome your inquiry for potential future opportunities. Learn more about these future opportunities or email volunteers@sdnhm.org for information.
