Connect People to Nature

Share your respect for the environment by joining the San Diego Natural History Museum’s volunteer program.

We offer a wide range of volunteer opportunities for over 700 volunteers, including: public engagment volunteers (Canyoneer hiking guides, Docent teaching guides, Museum Whalers, teen camp aides, and NATuralists who volunteer within the museum); science department opportunities (Birds and Mammals, Botany, Entomology, Herpetology, Paleontology, and the Research Library); and administrative departments. For high school students, we have camp volunteer positions and internship opportunities in conjunction with local schools.
